Seven die in bus collision SEMARANG, Central Java: At least seven people were killed and dozens of others badly injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Karanganyar yesterday. All victims, several of which have yet to be identified, have been moved to the Karanganyar general hospital. Obituary K.H. Achmad Syaichu, 74, speaker of the "Gotong Royong" House of Representatives between 1966 and 1972, died at the Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital in Jakarta yesterday, after a long illness. The veteran politician of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) political party is survived by his wife and eight children. NU was a political party between 1952 and 1984 before it returned to its original mission as an Islamic educational group.
