Taxi fares
From Bisnis Indonesia
When you arrive at Kebon Kelapa bus terminal in Bandung you will soon feel the coolness of the air of this Flower Town, as the people call it. But as soon as you get a taxi to continue your journey to your destination the taxi driver changes the atmosphere altogether. Drivers fix fares at their own will, without using the taxi meter.
One day I arrived in Bandung at about 11 p.m. and took a taxi to make the journey quicker. The driver asked me for Rp 15,000 from the bus terminal to Sekelimus. Public transport only costs Rp 300 for the same trip. I found many people have had similar experiences. Could the taxi companies do something about it to protect the interests of the public?
