Foreign investors in Vietnam HANOI (AFP): Foreign investors will be allowed to set up representative offices in Vietnam ahead of obtaining licenses to give them time to study investment projects, a report said yesterday, quoting a recent Trade Ministry directive. According to the wide-ranging circular released last week, the representative office will be given "a necessary term" that should not exceed three years, the daily Saigon GiaiPhong said.

Property firm's profit up JAKARTA (JP): PT Ciputra Development, a property company listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange, announced a 3,763 percent increase in after-tax profits to Rp 103.65 billion (US$46 million) in 1994 over the previous year. A company director, Harun Hajadi, said in a statement here yesterday that the profit surge was caused mainly by last year's sales of new houses in Jakarta and Surabaya, East Java, and the modification of accounting principles.

The reparation project covers a total length of 1.5 kilometers, starting in front of the Indomobil building in Cawang area, he said.
