Harapan Kita gets Rp 1b donation
JAKARTA (JP): Harapan Kita Foundation has received a Rp 1 billion (US$454,545) donation from Bakrie Brothers' holding company to help finance projects at the Harapan Kita cardiac center hospital.
The donation was made on Thursday by Aburizal Bakrie, chairman of the Bakrie Group, to First Lady Tien Soeharto, chairperson of the foundation.
Aburizal told reporters that the donation is aimed at helping the Harapan Kita hospital finance its cardiac divisions, which are established in other hospitals throughout Indonesia.
"Harapan Kita hospital has successfully established its cardiac units in various hospitals in a number of cities, including Padang, Medan, Bandung, Yogyakarta and Ujungpandang, to conduct heart surgery," Aburizal said.
Harapan Kita hospital also administers emergency units in several hospitals so they can treat patients with heart problems in Banda Aceh, Palembang, Solo, Malang and Denpasar.
Aburizal said that the donation is one of the activities to commemorate the Bakrie Group's 53th anniversary. (yns)
