IPTN's has new executives

JAKARTA (JP): State Minister for Research and Technology B.J. Habibie swore in more than 40 new executives and expert staff of the state-owned aircraft manufacturer Industri Pesawat Terbang Nusantara (IPTN) yesterday.

Among the newly-appointed executives is Habibie's eldest son, Ilham A. Habibie, who became the chief of programs for IPTN's N- 2130 aircraft.

The N-2130, which takes the place of the N-250 as IPTN's latest model aircraft, is a jet plane and the first commuter aircraft to be wholly designed by the company.

The other IPTN executives installed yesterday include Hari Laksono, who was appointed director of commerce/senior executive vice president and general manager; Eddy Susilo, new director of production; Sulaeman Kamil, new director of engineering and technology; Yuliswar, new director of program coordination; and A. Widyanarso Doeriat, new director of general affairs.

Indra Hasby, Sindu Utomo and Asril Fitri were installed as IPTN's directors of manufacturing, weapons systems and finance respectively. Meanwhile, Djoko Sartono was sworn in as chief of the N-250 program.

The Bandung-based IPTN officially launched the N-250 last November.(icn)
