Jaksa to jive with art fest JAKARTA: The Central Jakarta municipal administration is to open the Jl. Jaksa Street Art Festival next week in commemoration of the capital's 477th anniversary that fell on June 22. The festival will feature various traditional dances of the Betawi, or native Jakartan, culture. A colossal painting contest on a 200-meter length of cloth will highlight the event, said administration spokesman Yamin Abdullah on the city's official online news portal, beritajakarta.com.

Revote planned for July 25 at Al-Zaytun Yuli Tri Suwarni and Nana Rukmana, Bandung/Indramayu The West Java elections commission (KPUD) has decided to hold a revote at Al-Zaytun on July 25, following allegations of vote- rigging at the Islamic boarding school during the presidential election. KPUD member Affan Sulaeman, speaking in the provincial capital of Bandung on Monday, said the election repeat had been scheduled for next Saturday but was postponed until July 25 for technical reasons.

The Thai government will offer 6,300 baht (US$154) a ton for rice in this harvest year from 5,330 baht a ton a year earlier, Wattana told a press conference in Bangkok.

I was delighted to find that my wallet (complete with credit and ATM cards and other vital contents) was found and kept by their Customer Service that same night.
