S'pore's MobileOne profits rise 26.4%

SINGAPORE: Singapore's second largest mobile phone company,
MobileOne, said Monday net profits in the second quarter rose
26.4 percent year-on-year, mainly due to its international call
service operations.

MobileOne's second quarter profits were S$39.7 million
(US$23.35 million), with international call revenues up 28.6
percent to S$27.9 million, it said.

Revenues for mobile telecommunications services rose 5.1
percent year-on-year to S$141.2 million.

Overall operating revenues, including equipment sales, rose
four percent year-on-year to S$185 million.

MobileOne CEO Neil Montefiore said that with the global
economic recovery and business outlook remaining positive the
company would maintain its single-digit growth forecasts for the
