Lopa, a man of integrity May I join the national sorrow at the untimely death of a respected and highly valued figure in Indonesia, the late attorney general Baharuddin Lopa. Unfortunately I did not know him personally. His passing obviously leaves an immeasurable gap in the ranks of the Indonesian government. Not knowing that he was out of the country, I had intended on the very day of the news of his death, to try to make contact with him, but sadly it was not to be.

Bogor deer sent to Bengkulu BOGOR (JP): Ten deer from Bogor Palace were transported to Bengkulu on Monday to be raised at the official residence of the governor there. The head of Bengkulu's husbandry office, Emran Kuswadi, came directly from Bengkulu and brought the 10 deer to the governor's residence. Meanwhile, Bogor Palace's household chief Atikah Sumantri said that the deer would survive in Bengkulu as they were a hardy animal that could easily adjust to any tropical climate.
