Storm threat looms in RP

MANILA (Reuters); The Philippines said on Monday that another
potentially bad storm was approaching the archipelago as
authorities put the final death toll from last week's Typhoon
Utor at 128.

In an advisory, the Philippine weather bureau said a tropical
depression with winds of up to 55 kilometers per hour was spotted
480 km east-southeast of Aparri, Cagayan, at 0200 GMT (9 a.m.
Jakarta time) on Monday.

"Tropical depression Gorio has drifted northward for the past
six hours but remains a threat to extreme northern Luzon," it
said.

It said the weather disturbance could induce monsoon rains
over the western and southern sections of Luzon and western
portion of Visayas island.
