Bank Bali to expand service network JAKARTA (JP): PT Bank Bali, a private bank listed on the Jakarta and Surabaya stock exchanges, will expand its service network by establishing new branches and add to its Automated Teller Machine (ATM) system. President of Bank Bali Rudy Ramli told reporters after the bank's annual shareholders meeting here yesterday that the bank will open 25 new branches and 40 ATMs in various cities this year.

Students drown in estuary JAKARTA: Fifteen girls, all students of a Moslem high school, drowned in an estuary on the southern coast of Central Java while looking for fish during a biology class project. The victims, among 167 students on a three-day field trip held by their school, had been part of a group asked to catch some fish for the biology class at a shallow estuary.

Used hypodermic needle From Pikiran Rakyat I would like to warn housewives to be watchful for used hypodermic needles that are sold to school children by vendors. The children like to use the used devices for spraying games. I think the used needles are very dangerous for them, because a child may inject the needle into his friend by accident. Worse still if the needle had been used to inject a patient who is HIV positive or suffering from TB.
