100 packagers to attend TIM

JAKARTA (JP): Almost 100 international travel packagers have
confirmed their attendance at the first Tourism Indonesia Mart
(TIM) which will be held in Jakarta from Sept. 29 to Oct. 3.

Managing Director of the Indonesian Tourism Promotion Board
(BPPI) Wuryastuti Sunario said here yesterday that the mart,
slated to become a major annual event, is designed to match some
200 domestic travel industry suppliers with top foreign tour
operators and other buyers in at least 24 one-to-one meetings.

Coordinating Minister for Industry and Trade Hartarto is
scheduled to open the mart which will be held at Jakarta
Convention Center.

She also said that the five-day event was organized by a
committee comprising BPPI, the national air carrier Garuda
Indonesia, Pacific-Asia Travel Association (PATA) Indonesia
chapter, the Association of Indonesian Travel Agencies (Asita),
Directorate General of Tourism and the city's municipal
