Seattle group eyes Surabaya
SURABAYA, East Java: The Central Area Motivation Program (CAMP), a Seattle-based non-governmental organization (NGO) which focuses on eradicating poverty among minority groups in the United States, is seeking a partner in Surabaya.
East Java Governor Basofi Soedirman said a Seattle councilor, Larry Gosett, told him during a recent visit to the U.S. city that NGOs in the two cities should cooperate because Seattle and Surabaya are now sister cities.
Basofi said he fully encouraged such cooperation.
CAMP's members are minority citizens of African, Asian and Latin American descent. (arf)
