Taxi robbery

I was shocked to read the article in the Kompas daily on June
14, 1994, entitled "Be careful when taking a taxi", in which the
passenger complained that she was robbed by a taxi driver on her
way home from Melawai Plaza, Kebayoran Baru. As an owner of three
President Taxis I feel that the news will have a negative impact
on the President Taxi fleet as a whole. Taxi users will suspect
all President Taxis and be reluctant to use them. This will in
turn reduce the fees surrendered by the drivers to the owners and
upset the debt service to the bank.

It is to be deplored that the victim of the lousy taxi did not
give her identity and personal data, and did not know the number
of the car. As such is the case the President Taxi company has
difficulty determining what course of action to take.

I therefore suggest to every would-be passenger to take note
of the registration number of the taxi in which he or she rides
for future identification purposes.
