Small money not worth it From Kompas On August 6, I deposited some money at Bank Permata in Serpong, Tangerang. Rp 200,000 of the amount comprised Rp 1000 and Rp 500 notes. And, I was surprised to learn that the bank charged me 2.5 percent of the Rp 200,000. When I asked the bank's customer service desk why I was told that it was the bank's policy to charge 2.5 percent when notes deposited were of a small denomination, or coins were deposited.

No fatalities were reported in the incident, but one member of the crew, Triyono, had to be admitted to hospital due to severe burns. It's a matter of service to mankind I am a regular reader of The Jakarta Post. I was shocked to read about the bombing in front of the Australian Embassy which claimed nine lives. It is equally shocking that our leaders of major political parties kept "mum" on the issue. Leaders like Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid, Wiranto and Amien Rais did not speak or utter a word of sympathy etc. on the issue -- forget about visiting the bomb site or hospital to show solidarity.
