Tanker catches fire, one injured

PEKANBARU, Riau: A tanker belonging to state oil and gas company PT Pertamina caught fire on Tuesday morning in the company's depot in Sungai Duku area, Pekanbaru.

No fatalities were reported in the incident, but one member of the crew, Triyono, had to be admitted to hospital due to severe burns.

Gandi Sriwidodo, the chief of PT Pertamina's Pekanbaru marketing office, said that the fire came from a machine on the ship's bow. Triyono quickly tried to put out the fire, but unfortunately he was burned, said Gandi. -- JP
