Road sinks in Wonosobo WONOSOBO, Central Java: Traffic between the Wonosobo and Kebumen regencies was brought to a stop from Wednesday to Thursday after a portion of the road in Karanganyar village, Wadaslintang district, Wonosobo, sank after heavy rains. A local Ministry of Public Works official, Sodikin, told The Jakarta Post some 25 meters of the road had sunk on Thursday. Heavy rains on Sunday caused further sections of the road to sink up to 75 cm.

PT IKI to build more ships UJUNGPANDANG (JP): PT Pengembangan Armada Niaga Nasional Multi Finance (PANN) has contracted PT Industri Kapal Indonesia (IKI) to build 17 round-hull Mina Jaya fishing boats and several Caraka Jaya cargo ships. PT PANN's president, A. Rahkmat Pasha, was quoted by Antara as saying here Thursday that PT IKI had received the materials to build the first eight Mina Jaya boats. He said the materials for the remaining boats were expected to be delivered by October next year.
