New Goro center for North Jakarta
JAKARTA (JP): The Humpuss Group and its partners have established another Goro wholesale center in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, complete with a new Sentra Ria entertainment center.
"President Soeharto is scheduled to inaugurate the new Goro wholesale center tomorrow and tour the half-a-hectare Sentra Ria entertainment center in Kelapa Gading," Sharif C. Sutardjo, the president of Humpuss subsidiary PT Ariobimo Perkasa, said yesterday.
The first Goro wholesale center, in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, is managed by Humpuss subsidiary PT Batara Sakti, and has been open since last year. The Humpuss Group is controlled by Hutomo (Tommy) Mandala Putra, President Soeharto's youngest son.
The center distributes goods from manufacturers to cooperatives at wholesale prices with discounts of between 3 percent and 4.5 percent, depending on the terms of agreement.
In the new 1.5-hectare Goro center in Kelapa Gading, customers will be able to buy goods at wholesale prices and enjoy entertainment at the Sentra Ria center.
According to Sharif, the Sentra Ria entertainment center will be managed by PT Armo Batara Sakti, a joint venture between Batara Sakti and PT Ariobimo Perkasa (Armo).
"This is the first of its kind in Indonesia and we see a bright prospect by tying up with Goro," he said, adding that the investment in the Sentra Ria cost Rp 7 billion (US$3.02 million). (bnt)
