JSX to enter university
SEMARANG, Central Java (JP): The Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) signed a memorandum of understanding yesterday with Universitas Diponegoro to promote students' knowledge and understanding of capital markets.
JSX president Cyril Noerhadi said under the agreement the exchange would open an information center, called JSX Corner, at the university to help students learn about capital markets.
Felia Salim, a JSX director, said the exchange would provide a short course for selected students.
JSX set up a branch office in Semarang early this year containing computers with on-line access to the exchange.
Felia said investors could get instant JSX trading information through the computers.
She said six brokers operated in Semarang with a combined daily-trading value of around Rp 7 billion (US$2.9 million).
The brokerage houses include PT BPD Jateng Securities, PT Danamon Securities, PT Bomar Securities, PT Sasoon Securities and PT Piranti Securities. (alo)
