117 years old and still sharp

MATARAM, West Nusa Tenggara: A 117-year old woman, Zubaidah, is the oldest women in the province, say her relatives.

Her memory is still sharp and she remembers the names of all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reported Antara.

"She still has most of her teeth and her only problems are with her hearing and her sight. She has to wear glasses because of cataracts," said a grandson, Kemat on Friday.

Asked about the secret to her longevity, Zubaidah said:"You can't do the good things I did because you're still too young."

Zubaidah prays five-times-daily and still occasionally fasts. She lives in Batusun village, in the Praya district. (ste)
