The regional administration should not evade responsibility on these missing assets. The opinion that these missing items are merely percussion instruments for entertainment or heirlooms associated with sacred objects that have to be maintained and worshiped has to be put aside.

She stared intently at Bagus, her fellow cage mate and stud, who playfully splashed around in a puddle of water. Meanwhile, their unnamed cub ran around its small cage next to its parents. Once in a while, the cub, the youngest of four born in April 2000, gave a youthful roar, as if to attract its parents' attention.

Sudirman Bandung. The Spanish male victim was identified as Miguel Marcela, 45, a police member on duty at the United Nations Administration in East Timor who was on holiday.

Life sentence sought for drug dealer TANGERANG: Prosecutor DJ. S. Simamora demanded Tangerang District court on Monday to sentence defendant Muksin, a drug dealer, to life imprisonment for possessing and trafficking 60 kilograms of marijuana in Cisauk subdistrict of Serpong on Nov. 9, 2001. Simamora had earlier charged the defendant for violating Article 82 Law No. 22/1997 on drug trafficking. The article carries a maximum sentence of the death penalty.

Police arrest alleged counterfeiter JAKARTA: Detectives from the East Jakarta Police arrested a suspected counterfeiter on Monday and seized 17 counterfeit Rp 100,000 banknotes. The suspect, identified as Gentar Doy Bastari, was arrested after the officers pulled over the Suzuki Carry car he was driving. They found the notes in Gentar's pocket, and the suspect admitted that they were counterfeit. He also told the officers that he intended to distribute the money.
