In my letter, I referred to Hanuman as a "key" character in the epic Ramayana and not a "wily" one. Minister installs plantation firms' executives JAKARTA (JP): Minister of Agriculture Sjarifudin Baharsjah yesterday installed the executives of state-owned plantation companies, whose organizations have been restructured through mergers. Under the terms of the restructuring program completed last month, the government merged 26 plantation firms, locally known as PTPs, into 14 entities with a paid-up capital of between Rp 300 billion and Rp 1.7 trillion each.

KL's palmoil output up KUALA LUMPUR (Reuter): Malaysia's palmoil output in March is estimated to have risen by 40.5 percent to 600,000 tons from February, private crop forecaster, Ivan Wong said yesterday. Wong had estimated March's output to rise by 30 percent in his previous report. He forecast palmoil stocks at end-March at 675,000 tons compared with 723,910 tons at end-February. Exports in March were estimated at 575,000 tons against February's 435,188 tons.

Not just Jakarta I have experienced flight delays twice with Singapore Airlines. On March 15, 1996, the Jakarta to Singapore flight No. 151 was delayed for about four hours. The plane took off at 11:30 a.m. instead of 7:30 a.m. as scheduled. The second time was the Singapore to Jakarta flight No.158 on March 26, 1996. The aircraft was scheduled to depart at 3:30 p.m. but it only took off at 5:00 p.m.
