If I support candidate Z, for instance, and the campaign manager pays me Rp 20,000 to campaign at a certain location, I think that's fair enough. Not all supporters have enough money to buy food and drinks while campaigning, so the money would cover their basic needs.

Anyar market lost in fire BOGOR: An uncontrolled fire gutted at least 1,040 kiosks in Blocks A and E of Anyar market in the small hours of Monday. No fatalities were reported. The police suspected an electrical short circuit as the cause of the fire. The fire started at about 2:30 a.m. At least 50 fire trucks from the administration and nearby cement producer PT Indocement worked for about five hours to put out the fire. This was the fifth fire to raze the three-story building since 1961.

Asian revenues from Internet access up SINGAPORE: Internet-access revenues in the Asia-Pacific region excluding Japan grew 32 percent to US$8.8 billion in 2003, industry research house Gartner said Monday. The upturn largely reflected China's booming economy which saw broadband connections growing to a phenomenal 11 million in 2003 from 3.4 million in 2002, said Gartner. It estimated that regional revenues from providing Internet access would rise to at least $14.3 billion in four years' time.
