'Berita Kota' fire stops Monday edition

JAKARTA: There was no edition of Berita Kota paper on Monday
as the power generator of the media office on Jl. Suryopranoto,
Central Jakarta, exploded on Sunday afternoon, halting newsroom
activities.

"The genset exploded about 5:30 p.m., causing a blackout while
we were writing stories. The explosion was said to have been
caused by a short circuit," said Linda, a senior reporter with
the newspaper.

The fire caused only minor damage to the basement of the
office premises.

"We shall reappear on Tuesday," added Linda's colleague,
Aldinar. --JP.
