Panda-like animal found in Papua MANOKWARI, Papua: Zoologists from Sydney, Australia have discovered a new species of mammal in the Papuan jungle, which is similar to a panda. Timothy Flannery, one of the Australian zoologists, reported that the new species had a pouch like a kangaroo but was shaped like a panda. The animal was discovered recently on Mount Jayawijaya, nearby the settlement of the Moni tribespeople. According to Flannery, the animal is not skilled at tree climbing.
