The fast growing and shady angsana trees along the road need proper care so they do not go wild and obscure traffic signs, even disturb the traffic flow as their branches fall off during a storm.

Broken off by strong winds, branches have fallen on passing vehicles, cut through electricity and telephone cables and have even injured train passengers.

In on case, a resident on Jl. Sangaji, Central Jakarta, pruned some branches of a tree in front of his house for fear it would damage his utility lines during heavy rains. Several days later, he was summoned by the subdistrict head for violating a city ordinance.

To protect the interests of citizens, the Jakarta park agency should address and settle this problem, which falls under its authority.
