Hasyim to unveil NU central board

SEMARANG: Newly reelected chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU)
Hasyim Muzadi said on Wednesday he would announce the new lineup
of the organization's central board of executives on Dec. 11 at
the latest.

Hasyim said there would no significant change to the total
number of executives. "While the consultative body (syuriah) will
comprise a chairman and deputy chairman and 12 members, the
executive body (tanfidziyah) will consist of a chairman and 11
members, and the secretariat will comprise five people," Hasyim
said here.

Hasyim declined to reveal any names.

He said the central board would still run its activities from
the existing office in Central Jakarta, despite a threat from
senior NU figure Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid to split the office
to enable him to run a splinter organization. -- JP
