MANOKWARI, Papua: Zoologists from Sydney, Australia have discovered a new species of mammal in the Papuan jungle, which is similar to a panda.

Timothy Flannery, one of the Australian zoologists, reported that the new species had a pouch like a kangaroo but was shaped like a panda. The animal was discovered recently on Mount Jayawijaya, nearby the settlement of the Moni tribespeople.

According to Flannery, the animal is not skilled at tree climbing.
