Corruption-free agencies

From Koran Tempo

Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's administration is prioritizing the
eradication of corruption in its first 100-day program. In this
context, the first thing to do must be to put law-enforcement
agencies -- the prosecutors, the judges and the police -- in
order, to ensure they are corruption-free.

The Attorney General took a promising step when he subjected
all his workers to an examination. To ensure transparency,
however, the job should be left to external institutions like the
Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) or the relevant non-
governmental organizations. Honesty aside, examining your own
colleagues will, after all, put you in an awkward position.
