KL man eyes world record KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): A Malaysian man will attempt to set a world record by pedaling a trishaw 6,000 kilometers across the continent to Nanjing, China. Sitdek Ahmad Ali, 43, set a local record last year for pulling a rickshaw 2,280 kilometers across peninsula Malaysia, according to The Star newspaper on Monday. On May 26, Sitdek will set off from Malacca on a 134-day expedition that will also take him to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam before reaching Nanjing, it said.

FSPC sets new guidelines for corporate restructuring JAKARTA (JP): The Financial Sector Policy Committee (FSPC) has set new guidelines for future corporate restructuring deals under the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA) in a bid to improve transparency and accountability. Coal mining firms can buy fuel at 50% of market prices JAKARTA (JP): The government said on Monday that coal mining firms can buy fuel at 50 percent of international market prices, instead of the full rate as required of other mining sectors. Director general for oil and gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Rachmat Sudibyo said the government had exempted coal mining firms from paying the full price.
