"The sponsor has given Rp 1.3 billion of our Rp 2 billion budget this year. We're very pleased with the assistance," said Didiet Soedijoto, the association's secretary-general Tuesday. The company's net profit also rose to Rp 351 billion last year, the company announced yesterday. Indofood's chief executive officer Eva Riyanti Hutapea attributed the significant sales improvement to increased sales of noodles and snack foods.

12 workers escape warehouse fire JAKARTA (JP): Twelve men and women escaped unharmed from a burning plastic and paper recycling warehouse in Cengkareng, West Jakarta, yesterday. Some of the employees of PT Inti Plastik on Jl. Mangga Ubi I in the Kapuk subdistrict climbed over a two-meter high wall, and others demolished sections of it to escape.
