Component plant to open
JAKARTA (JP): PT Guna Elektro has set up a joint venture with German company Trumpf GmbH & Co to build a 5 million deutschemark (US$2.9 million) sheet metal components plant in Bekasi, West Java.
The joint venture, Data Laserindo Metal, is equally owned by Guna Elektro and Trumpf.
Guna Elektro business development director Tiwan Liutama said yesterday the plant would be constructed on a 3,500-square-meter plot in Cikarang industrial complex.
Commercial production is scheduled to start in October with a designed capacity of between 800 tons and 1,000 tons of sheet metal components yearly.
It will manufacture high precision sheet metal components for furniture, electronics and automobiles. (jsk)
