Puri Dewata Indah housing complex

Puri Dewata Indah housing complex

From Media Indonesia

I have been living at Puri Dewata Indah in Cipondoh,
Tangerang, West Java for the last six years. The housing complex
is the responsibility of the developer PT Cahaya Baru Raya (CBR)
which has since changed its name to PT Cahaya Baru Raya Realty
(CBRR). The company has not fulfilled its obligation to provide
the complex with social and general facilities.

In order to construct a mosque we were forced to make
contributions to have the facility built. Part of the main road
to the complex was taken over by the developer to be turned into
an access route to the Taman Royal Permata housing complex,
recently renamed Permata California.

Since the existence of the new complex, the Puri Dewata Indah
complex has been neglected. The 200-meter road to the complex has
been in a deplorable state for years.

We were therefore astounded to read in the newspapers recently
that Tangerang mayor Djakaria Machmud praised the developer who,
it was said, had put aside funds for orphans, the poor, the
elderly and the needy in the area.

We regret the mayor's hasty evaluation of PT CBRR while the
company has not yet fulfilled its many obligations. We also
wonder why PT CBR changed its name to PT CBRR. Hopefully, this
was not meant to exempt them from their obligations.

The inhabitants have endured the situation without complaining
about the impact of PT CBRR's activities, like the damage caused
to roads by heavy trucks. To our knowledge, PT CBRR uses PT CBR's
old permit. This means that Puri Dewata Indah is still the moral
responsibility of PT CBRR.

There is a limit to anybody's patience. Six years has been a
very long time.
