Mayasari Bhakti causes traffic snarls
From Republika
Daily commuters using public transportation in Jakarta are
almost always making use of Mayasari Bhakti bus services,
particularly residents of Cijantung. The Bogor highway is
congested by these buses every morning and afternoon, and
evenings too. We do not understand why the management does not
relocate some of their buses to another area to prevent road
congestion.
Apart from this, there are various matters that demand the
attention of the bus management.
1. Mayasari Bhakti bus drivers are often impolite. They drive at
their own will. For instance, passengers in a tightly packed bus
waiting to depart from the Cijantung pool were suddenly forced to
move onto another vehicle. This should have been done before the
driver started the ignition.
2. The Patas and Patas AC Mayasari Bhakti buses have not improved
matters. Passengers packed in like sardines are still having to
pay Rp 750, and it has become a normal sight in Jakarta. There
are also passengers who have to pay Rp 1,800 to stand in a bus
when the airconditioning is not in working order. This is not
fair. Why are these vehicles not converted to Patas buses without
airconditioning?
And why don't they stop the awful habit of picking up
passengers along the road and stuffing them in an already
overcrowded bus like the Patas PPD buses?
I hope the Patas AC Mayasari Bhakti bus drivers are not so
greedy and do not exceed their seat capacity. I feel that I have
to forward my complaint because Mayasari Bhakti buses are yet to
improve.
And how can the Indonesian Consumers Association help
passengers who always seem to be on the losing side?
