RI joins Canadian expo
JAKARTA (JP): Twenty-one domestic companies represented by 26 businessmen left yesterday to participate in a trade mission in Canada to discuss trade cooperation with Canadian business representatives.
The trade mission, led by the Minister of Industry and Trade Tunky Aribowo, was organized by the Indonesia-Canada Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the National Agency for Export Development.
The Indonesia-Canada Chamber of Commerce announced yesterday that the delegation was scheduled to meet their Canadian counterparts in Vancouver, Toronto and Halifax during the eight- day mission to discuss the possibilities of investment and joint ventures as well as entering the Canadian market.
The mission would focus on the country's main export items such as textile, garment, shoes and furniture, and other commodities which have a potential to gain greater share of the market.
Some of the participants in the mission included Sinar Mas Group, Djajanti Group and Krakatau Steel.
The mission will return here on March 27. (02)
