Merpati sally I am writing about the adventure of traveling on Merpati Nusantara Airlines. I made travel arrangements for what I was told was a direct flight from Bandung to Denpasar. Upon checking in at 10:20 a.m., I learned the flight was delayed from the original 11:15 a.m. to 1:40 p.m. At 1:15, I was called to the ticket counter and told that the flight was canceled because a "state visit" had disrupted Merpati's schedule.

Deputy rector Soedarsono said that the students entered 10 years ago, twice the average time needed for most students to graduate, and yet had failed to finish their courses. The 1995 figure rose to Rp 255.25 billion (US$111 million) from Rp 147.17 billion in the previous year. The bank announced yesterday that its interest revenues increased by 25 percent to Rp 1.55 trillion last year from Rp 1.35 trillion in 1994.
