64 exporters to join overseas exhibitions
JAKARTA (JP): A total of 64 Indonesian exporters will participate in the Bologna International Trade Fair in Italy, Unitrex '96 in Rotterdam and the International Houseware Show in Tokyo this month.
The National Agency for Export Development said in a statement yesterday that Indonesia is honored as a "guest country" at the Bologna fair, which will run from June 7 through June 16.
Forty six Indonesian exporters will occupy 1,000 square meters to exhibit at the fair.
Their products include handicrafts, rattan-based and wood- based furniture, garments, toys and traditional cosmetics.
"Indonesian exhibitors will also present cultural shows, including traditional music and beauty shows, every night on an open stage," the statement said.
State Minister of Investment Sanyoto Sastrowardoyo is expected to be present at the fair and lead a panel discussion on investment in Indonesia.
At Unitrex '96, from June 5 through June 8, Indonesia will be represented by eight exporters of marble products, furniture, toys, garments, fishery products and handicrafts.
Meanwhile, 10 exporters will take part in the International Houseware Show from June 19 through June 21. Their participation is sponsored by the Japan External Trade Organization.
The statement explained that the agency, which is affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, will sponsor trade promotions at 53 exhibitions in 25 countries this 1996/1997 fiscal year.
The largest exhibitions at which Indonesia will participate are in Dubai and New York. The country will send some 100 exhibitors to each. (rid)
