Garlic smugglers captured SAMARINDA, East Kalimantan: Marine patrol in Tarakan captured a boat carrying nine tons of garlic thought to be smuggled from Malaysia to Indonesia last week, a military official said yesterday. The boat and the cargo were confiscated for further investigation, he said.

As a senior employee my partner has to attend several meetings daily, two to three hours per day. For the past three months my partner coughs a lot. Flora and fauna stamps From Kompas As an Indonesian bird watcher I congratulate the government for issuing the stamps of the Love of Flora and Fauna 1994 serial. The official issue was Nov. 5, 1994. The flora and fauna pictures on the stamps are of high quality. However, there is one disturbing mistake in giving the Latin name of the picture on one stamp, i.e. the stamp which has a picture of fauna from the Riau province. Pakistan's gas depletes QUETTA, Pakistan (Reuter): Pakistan is seriously concerned about its fast-depleting natural gas reserves, which experts say could run out in 18 years' time. "Based on the 1992/93 gas production rate of about 1,600 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) and an annual production growth rate of 6.1 percent, Pakistan's gas reserves will last another 18 years," Ashfaq Safi Munshey of the state-run Sui Southern Gas Co Ltd told Reuters.
