Brutal attack on UKI campus
JAKARTA (JP): A group of students of the privately-owned Academy of Maritime Indonesia brutally attacked students and destroyed property of the University of Catholic Indonesia (UKI) yesterday.
The afternoon attack at the UKI campus on Jl. Diponegoro in Central Jakarta has left at least three students wounded, 31 parked vehicles and the university's law school building damaged, and assets such as computer sets destroyed.
Antara reported that local police have yet to detain any of the rampaging students. As of yesterday they had no idea as to the motive of the attack.
City Police Chief Maj. Gen. Moch. Hindarto said his office was investigating the incident.
National Police Chief Gen. Banurusman condemned the attackers as being narrow-minded and having no clear mind.
