Tambang Timah to focus on gold exploration, Erry says JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed tin mining firm PT Tambang Timah is to refocus its priorities to gold exploration to boost its performance, a company executive said here on Tuesday. Company president Erry Riyana Hardjapamekas said that the company, which for years has relied on tin mining, should seek other mining opportunities to improve its finances.

Unocal, Mobil find RI oil EL SEGUNDO, California (Dow Jones): Unocal Corp. and Mobil Corp. encountered oil and gas pay at two wells in their West Seno field offshore Indonesia. In a press release Monday, Unocal said the West Seno No. 1 well encountered 287 vertical feet of oil and gas pay between 7,200 feet and 9,800 feet, while the West Seno No. 5 well encountered 188 vertical feet of oil and gas pay. The two wells are near the West Seno No. 2 well, which found oil and gas last summer.
