Royal raises RI provision
EDINBURGH (Dow Jones): Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC (RBSB)
has lifted provisions for Indonesian exposure in the second half
of its fiscal year ending Sept. 30, Chief Executive George
Mathewson said Tuesday.
"Our provisions for Indonesia were 25 percent of our
Indonesian exposure at the half year. We will be moving it up
from that in the second half," he said in an interview with Dow
Jones Newswires.
A Royal Bank of Scotland spokesman said the group made a 53
million pounds provision for the economic problems in Indonesia,
South Korea and Thailand during the first half.
Mathewson said only the provision for Indonesia will be
increased "meaningfully" during the second half.
