200 housing complex residents yet to receive land certificates
BOGOR (JP): At least 200 residents of Reny Jaya housing complex in Pondok Petir village, Sawangan district, have become increasingly anxious due to the developer's failure to give them land certificates on time.
Pranajaya, the residents' spokesman, said that most residents met all the requirements in the purchasing agreement, including paying the final installment years ago, but there was no indication as to when the certificates would be given.
Pranajaya said the residents, who accounted for about half of the total families living in the complex, had frequently asked state Bank Tabungan Negara, which is in charge of managing the housing payments, about the certificates but were told that the documents were still being processed at the Bogor office of the National Land Agency.
"I have paid for my house on an installment basis since 1991, but until now I have not yet received the certificate. Many other residents also have had similar experiences," he said.
Gusyawan, an official at the land agency, who confirmed the matter on Tuesday, said that his office had not received any proposals for the processing of certificates from the bank nor the developer of the above-mentioned housing complex.
"The bank or the developer is supposed to directly process the certificates. We have this far received similar proposals from individuals living in the complex," Gusyawan said.
He estimated that the delay in the processing of the certificates was caused by neglect on the part of the developer. Many developers of housing complexes in Bogor regency neglected their obligations.
Pranajaya said that private developer PT Reny Jaya Utama, which built the complex, had already been dissolved. (24/jun)
