Le Meridien gets award

JAKARTA (JP): Le Meridien Nirwana Golf and Spa Resort in Bali has been awarded the highest rank in Meridien Worldwide quality, the hotel announced on Tuesday.

Hotel general manager Gerard Hotelier said that his hotel received the highest score among 250 hotels under Meridien worldwide in the twice yearly audit which consists of a comprehensive review of all services, products and facilities.

He said that early this year, the hotel had also been awarded the "1998 Best New Resort Hotel" by the Pacific Area Travel Agents Association (PATA).

The 278-room hotel is part of the Nirwana Bali Resort, a 100- hectare integrated resort located in Tabanan, adjacent to the sacred Tanah Lot temple.

The resort, officially opened last November, is owned and developed by PT Bakrie Nirwana Resort, a subsidiary of the widely diversified Bakrie Group. (gis)
