Unocal, Mobil find RI oil

EL SEGUNDO, California (Dow Jones): Unocal Corp. and Mobil
Corp. encountered oil and gas pay at two wells in their West Seno
field offshore Indonesia.

In a press release Monday, Unocal said the West Seno No. 1
well encountered 287 vertical feet of oil and gas pay between
7,200 feet and 9,800 feet, while the West Seno No. 5 well
encountered 188 vertical feet of oil and gas pay.

The two wells are near the West Seno No. 2 well, which found
oil and gas last summer.

Unocal is operator of the Makassar Strait PSC where the wells
are located and has a 50 percent working interest. Mobil holds
the remaining 50 percent.
