Two killed in bus collision PURWOKWERTO, Central Java: Two people were killed and dozens of others injured in a traffic accident on Sunday in the Banyumas regency. A passenger bus from Surabaya, East Java, en route to Tasikmalaya in West Java, collided head-on with a truck while attempting to overtake a minibus. Bus driver Sujadi and his assistant Suyatno were killed instantly.

Vietnam risk guaranteed HANOI (Reuter): The Multinational Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), a World Bank agency, has issued its first guarantee contract for Vietnam to Citibank, the U.S. bank said yesterday. The MIGA guarantee of US$13.5 million covers 90 percent of Citibank's $15 million investment against risks of civil disturbance, war, transfer restriction and expropriation, it said in a statement.

A panel of three judges, led by Army Col. Imron Anwari, said in their verdict that the defendants, Chief Corporal M. Idrus Mali, 45, and Second Sergeant Sohandi, 26, acted against their oath, and have tarnished the image of the Indonesian Armed Forces.

"There has been progress in today's negotiations. Hopefully, we can finalize everything on Wednesday. So, be patient," Tunky said.

Tin firm to be listed on London stock market JAKARTA (JP): Minister of Finance Mar'ie Muhammad announced yesterday that PT Tambang Timah will be the second state-owned firm to be listed on overseas stock exchanges this year, after PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (PT Telkom). The minister said that Tambang Timah, a tin mining company, will be cross-listed on the Jakarta and London stock exchanges, while Telkom will be traded on the New York Stock Exchange in addition to those two bourses.
