ADB provides buses, collector
AMBON, Maluku: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has presented the Ambon municipal administration with nine buses and 10 garbage trucks for its cleanliness campaign.
Mayor Yohanes Sudiyono said here on Monday, however, that his office had yet to receive all the necessary documents from the bank for it to start using the vehicles.
"The aid is timely because we urgently need the vehicles to cope with the public sanitation problems in the city," he told Antara. "We wish to win again the Adipura award that we received last year."
The award is given annually to clean, healthy and environmentally-friendly cities. Ambon currently operates 14 garbage trucks, some of which are already in poor condition. (rms)
