RI, South Korea to develop coal technology JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia and South Korea will cooperate in developing coal briquette technology, in a bid to promote the use of that fuel in households and small industries. The Indonesian and South Korean governments signed yesterday a cooperation agreement, whereby they will study the development of the most suitable coal briquette technology to be applied in Indonesia.

Fast food businesses in Jakarta must indeed be a cut-throat competition, but I didn't know that customers' throats are so deliberately targeted. A few years back, Pizza Hut provided plates at their "self- service" vegetable salad counters. Later, the restaurant changed the plates to small bowls, which again often changed shapes. Pizza Hut used to keep large spoons to generously scoop out the vegetables from each container.

Man shot dead by friend JAKARTA (JP): Police are still hunting a Tanjung Priok dock worker believed to have shot dead a friend. Central Jakarta Police refused to identify the man who shot Hendra, alias Bule, on Jl. Hayam Wuruk, in downtown North Jakarta. Hendra was shot twice in the stomach after a heated quarrel with the shooter on Oct. 28. Hendra died at the Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital on Thursday.

Science center opens today JAKARTA (JP): The new Science and Technology Center for children is open to the public as of today. The center will be open from 9 a.m to 4 p.m daily, except on Mondays. The entrance fee is Rp 500. Until January only the first floor will be open to visitors.
