Science center opens today

JAKARTA (JP): The new Science and Technology Center for
children is open to the public as of today.

The center will be open from 9 a.m to 4 p.m daily, except on
Mondays. The entrance fee is Rp 500.

Until January only the first floor will be open to visitors.

This floor features optical illusions, exhibits of mathematics
pioneers and instruments explaining the basic principles of sea
and land transport.

Located in the Indonesia in Miniature Park in East Jakarta,
the center houses instruments which children can play with while
learning basic sciences.

"We can consider the center to have reached its goal if a
child goes home curious," said Herudi Kartowisastro, the center's
project chief. (anr)
