Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Hayono Isman rejected being elected head of Multipurpose Cooperative of Mutual Assistance because of his commitment as a minister. This is a good attitude of the minister that other ministers should ponder about. Earlier, Minister of Environment Sarwono Kusumaatmadja and Minister of Transmigration Siswono Yudohusodo also rejected the post for the same reason. The latter even added that a ministerial post could not be coupled with any other post, if a minister is to do his job efficiently and effectively.

The statements by those three ministers are worthy of serious consideration. In the case of sports organization, for example, the chief must know what his organization is all about. Or the organization would make slow progress or achieve very little.
