Central banks to sign deals

HONG KONG (Reuter): Senior officials from a number of regional central banks will gather in Hong Kong on Monday to sign bilateral repurchase agreements, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) said.

Central bank officials from Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand are expected to join the HKMA, Hong Kong's de facto central bank, in signing the agreements to enhance cooperation.

Local news reports said the agreements would cover exchange of information, liquidity arrangements and increased cooperation between the central banks in Hong Kong and in the three countries.
