Late water pay subject to fines JAKARTA (JP): The city-owned water company, PAM Jaya, will penalize consumers with fines newly-increased by 100 to 500 percent as of next month, a move that has drawn strong criticism from the City Council. Bambang Suranto, PAM Jaya's business director, said in a letter dated Oct. 11 that the fine for an overdue payment will be raised to Rp 5,000 from the existing fine of Rp 1,000.

Meeting to stop crime From Berita Buana The first phase of the police investigation into the murder of Rohadi's wife and three of his children in the Bambu Apus area of East Jakarta led to the suspicion that the murder must have been committed by somebody living nearby. It still puzzles me how such brutal murder could have taken place. Crashed aircraft belongs to Asindo JAKARTA (JP): A training aircraft crashed on Friday at the Halim Perdanakusumah Air Force base in East Jakarta, claiming the lives of the pilot, Chairul Hasrat, and his trainee pilot Nurcahyo Harinto. The plane belonged to the Asindo flying school. The Antara news agency said on Saturday that earlier reports that the Bravo AS-202 belonged to the Air Force were incorrect.
